Dear Family (and Bishop),
Thank you all so much for your e-mails, love and support!!! This past week was transfers week so things have been pretty crazy. It started on Tuesday when the new missionaries arrived and President went to pick them up from the airport. We got a call from one of the missionaries because the flight came in an hour before President was expecting it to. After picking up the missionaries, the assistants dropped them off in the plaza so they could start talking to people there (kind of a "hit the ground running" thing). Then they went to President's house where Elder Miles and I took pictures. We left right before dinner started so we could get a head-start on the paperwork we needed to do. We ended up passing by McDonalds for dinner and got a free McFlurry for being one of the Top 10 customers at that particular McDonalds for the month. That was kind of funny. We then took the Elders to our house and the Hermanas to the appartment in Unimev and then came back to the offices to finish the Argentine documentation for the new missionaries. We worked until about 3 in the morning and went to bed finally at about 4 AM. We then managed to wake up at 5:30 AM so we could be first in line (we were actually second in line) at the Civil Registry in the Libertad shopping center. We waited from like 6:45 AM until 9 AM when the place finally opened and then started the long process which didn't end until about 12 noon. It was fun though. The new Elders (the Hermanas were Argentine and didn't get in on the "fun") wanted to talk to everybody which was really awesome. You can tell they're excited to be here. They then came back to the offices for a little bit of training from the assistants, lunch, and a meeting to meet their new trainers. While all this was going on, I was going crazy in the offices trying to get the binders ready for them (they actually didn't get finished since I was short on time but they will have them for Zone conferences). While all this was going on, the Old missionaries were in the offices having their final interviews with President Lindahl. They were all weighing lugage and getting help from the office staff to prepare them for their departure. That night all the old Elders stayed in our house and once again we had to get up early to get them to the airport. We ended up making 3 trips to the airport just sending off missionaries but they all made their flights so that's the important part.
After the trial comes the blessings. President got a package from Salt Lake with a new book of temple recommends. In that package was a bar code reader (we didn't make the connection at first). President took the bar code reader into my office and asked me "could you figure out what this is in your spare time?" Ok, this might be slightly nerdy but my first thought was "this is like someone dropping the keys to a Viper on your desk and asking "could you figure out how fast this thing goes?" Needless to say I was excited. Oi, se acabó el tiempo. Well I just noticed I ran out of time but I love you all very much!!! Have an amazing week and remember that this church is true! Bye!!!
Love,
Elder Williams
