Advice from Another Missionary

Lawrence's cousin Robert is serving a mission in Brazil right now. In his latest weekly email, he sent some advice for both Lawrence, and his other cousin Chris, who is getting ready to serve in New Zealand. Robert's been in Brazil since September.

"1. Learn how to rely on the Lord, as soon as possible. You can waste a lot of time and effort not doing so. A mission is not a call to be thrown into a foreign land, but amazing opportunity to work very close to the Lord, among children of God.
2. and in connection with that. Chapter 4 of Preach my Gospel is extremely important. Learn to recognize the promptings of the spirit.
3. I know, I know. You probably have heard it 1000 times. But it is absolutely true, keep the mission rules. All the mission rules. The spirit of the Lord dwells within the rules, and there is great safety there.
4. Do as Moroni teaches and pray to be filled with the love of God, for his children. This is, above all, a work of love.

Well thats all...! Good luck!"

I have been bugging Lawrence to get on here and post a few things for his friends before he leaves. His response was, "You know how we all know we should be keeping a journal, but we just never get around to it? It's like that." Hopefully before he leaves I'll be able to get him to post.

We are getting closer and closer to February 13th! Lawrence is enjoying his time in California before he has to come back to Provo for the MTC. It feels like it's been snowing here nonstop for a week, so hopefully things will have warmed up by the time he gets into town.

By the way, if you want to stay completely up-to-date on Lawrence's mission blog, there is a link at the bottom of the page that says "Subscribe to: Posts (Atom)". Click on it, and it will take you to a set of options on how to inform you whenever there is a new post. The blog hasn't been advertised much yet, but I am hoping to get the word out a little more once Lawrence leaves. Stay tuned!
