Dear Family,
Thank you all so much for your letters, love, and support!!! I'm definately thankful for a family who has been paying their fire insurance :) . The times spoken of in the scriptures are very much coming to pass. It is a great blessing that we know what to expect in the days immediately before the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Here we haven't had any problems with fires or anything like that but we did have a lightning storm (it was more fun to watch than anything else, Elder Lloyd got some pictures). We've been working a lot with Juan the best darn 89-year-old who's got more faith than a stack-a-bibles. He's not able to walk very well but last Sunday he made the entire good distance on foot (us walking with him of course) and even walked back to his home even though he said his back hurt him while he was walking. How much less of an excuse would we have to go to church when we have cars and don't actually have to walk at all. As wonderful as Juan is though he said next Sunday (tomorrow) he's coming in Taxi :) . He can't wait to be baptized and we would be baptizing him today but tomorrow's stake conference so we would have had to postpone the confirmation for a week which isn't recommended. The confirmation should be the day after the baptism. We also met the mother of one of the ward's recent converts. Her name is Juana (it'll be the baptism of Juan and Juana) and she also has a good testimony of the church. She knows it's true and that she needs to get baptized (she's been going to church in another ward but recently moved in with her son in our ward) but she said she just doesn't feel ready yet. We had two powerful discussions with her talking about the need for baptism and what she would need to be ready. The spirit was very strong and she understood much of what we said. Last night we committed her to pray and ask God what He thought since God surely knows what all of us need. She has the desire to know what she needs to do and we could see her humility growing as she seems to want to follow God's will. We'll be passing by her house to see how her prayer went and to see if she's received her response. It's truly a testimony of this church to think that we invite people to ask God. What other church has the surety of their beliefs as to invite people to ask God of the truth with the sure knowledge that He will direct them to their church. This church is not of men. This church is to save men but it was not founded by mortal man. It was in place long before Adam took his first breath. This church is the true church of God and the only true church of God on the earth for God would not found other churches and cause confusion. Christ only founded one church when he was on the earth, a church with Him as the head and 12 apostles below Him to guide the people. That same organization with the same authority exists on the earth in this church. I could not imagine receiving a traffic ticket from a haircutter nor baptism from one who was not ordained of God. The apostles did not ordain themselves, Christ did. Every priesthood holder has a direct line of authority that can be traced to Christ himself. I love this Church and that I am here in Argentina serving a mission for the only Savior mankind will ever know. Jesus Christ paid his entire life for us and I was only asked two years. I know Jesus is the Christ and that He restored this church on the earth as even the Bible said He would in these the last days. Thank you again for your love and e-mails and I can't wait to hear from you again! I love you all!!! Bye!!!
Love,
Elder Williams
P.S. tell the Abuelos I got their letter in the mail! :)
